Conflict: Global Terror Demo

Holy kick-ass difficult game series that gamers love but lame video game reviewers always trash Batman! It's time for (insert trumpet here) Conflict: Global Terror (insert screaming crowd of pleased gamers like myself who love this 4 man squad series). Along with this great demo, the September OXBM has a ton (7) of other great demos on the disc. This only seems to happen every 3 or 4 months so pick it up while they're hot!

For those of you who have never played any of the Conflict games - all I can say is that you can find Conflict: Desert Storm, CDSII and Conflict: Vietnam all used for cheap at any VG shop. They are worth every penny. Okay, the Vietnam one was not super great, but I still had fun playing it. For some reason, Video Game review snobs hate this series - even though it sells extremely well! I don't get it.

Anyway, you control a squad of 4 - switching between any of them on the fly to take control. You can direct them to go where you want, fire how you want, heal as you want - EACH Member of the squad! This is what makes the game so great! You WILL die a lot! But you'll try new strategies and have a great sense of accomplishment when it's all done. Each member of the squad had a different strength - learn it and use them accordingly. The games typically have about 12 levels and you will be sad when the dust settles and the credits roll. You are allowed to save your game up to 3 times so pick wisely! Yes, you will end up restarting some missions from the beginning due to poor choices in saving. It's great!!!

Anyway, the new Conflict:Global Terror has been re-built from the ground up and it shows! The lighting and detail is beautiful! Framerate of the demo is decent - a skip here and there. The controls have been improved and commands are easier to give. There is a nice quick grenade mapped to the black button. The action of the demo is fast and fierce - you will die many times - but you will love it! The level design and presentation are well thought out. I'm placing my pre-order now.

I cannot wait for the final game to come out! Due out for Xbox, Playstation2 and PC. Check it out!
