...The Saga Continues

Ever wonder what it looks like when you have a defective Xbox 360 and you have to send it back to Microsoft? Here's a sneak peek inside my world!
Well a very special cardboard box to send my broken Xbox 360 to Microsoft arrived today. It was sad to disconnect everything and pack it up. I had to include the monolithic power brick and video cables.

It included a valuable page of instructions in case someone was completely inept and could not figure out how to put a box inside another box.
Additionally, there is a pre-paid DHL shipping label and a very high-tech circular clear sticker to seal the outer box.

So far the Microsoft response has been pretty good. I'll keep you posted on how long it takes to get a replacement/repair.

Interesting. With mine, they told me I had to include the hard drive since it was a premium system, but to keep the power and video cables. They also said I would receive a UPS mailer, but then they sent it via DHL which added a day - two if you count the fact that I couldn't turn it around in time for a same-day pickup.
The instruction sheet doesn't actually detail what to include, so who knows what's really required. I called and learned mine was repaired today and should be back in my hands by tomorrow.

Three days from the day Xbox 360 support received it. I just got mine back Friday, so about a week round trip.

have you tried troubleshooting the issue? try visiting www.xbox.com, you have to register the console first then you can create a repair order. There's a number for a customer support to help you out if you want them to register the console and create the repair order for you. You will be given the choice if you want to get your own box from the post office or if xbox will send you one. They will give you the details on how to send the console to the service center. if it is in warranty, the repair and the shipping will be for free.
