Datel PSP 4GB HDD and Extended Battery Review

So you've bought yourself a Sony PSP for $250.00 and discovered that the battery life sucks and those cool little Memory Stick Duos cost waaayy too much. Now what?

Datel has come up with a pretty cool little device that attempts to remedy these problems at the cost of adding bulk and weight to your PSP.

For about 200.00 (PSP is a sink hole) you can get yourself one.

What I liked:

- For those of you enjoying a 1.5 firmware using your fav launch program to run homebrew and emulators is a breeze.

- Hardware installation was very quick and easy

- Quality craftsmanship; durable

- Don't have to buy any more freakin Duo sticks!

What I didn't like:

- Connecting HD to PC card reader required a reboot (maybe just for me?)

- Took a long time to ship from China (okay, my fault but still pissed me off).

- Steep price to pay for Sony's poor design errors and/or greed - who is watching movies on this thing? "Honey, we'll finish watching Titanic just as soon as my PSP finishes charging up..."

- Really bulks up your PSP to weapons grade handheld.

- HD side gets very hot while battery remains cool, but doesn't taste as good as a Mc-D-LT.
