Call of Duty 2 - Xbox 360 Achievements

Played a ton of COD2 this weekend. The recently revealed glitch that allows you to actually get your friends into a match was a bit tedious but worked. At least less tedious than racing to invite a friend in the player matched mode.

Even with the long list of Live functionality bugs, COD2 is awesome fun when it works. This is why you spend 10 minutes trying to get a match to work. Once a super-patch is released this will no doubt be the best XBbox 360 online experience.

I learned quite a bit from putting in my hours. For one, I used to always pick machine guns and shot guns because the were quick and didn't require lengthy aiming time. This strategy might work in Quake 4 but not in COD2. I switched to the M1 Garand class of weapon and spent hours mastering it (or close to it). This is a powerful weapon that doesn't take forever to aim. Not so great in close quarters so I had to slow down with the balls-out action. This gun is a great balance of action/stealth. I personally hate sniper FPS matches. I think they are lame. I'm sure many of you disagree, but I like a little more action - just my personal preference.

After a while I tried my luck with the Browning and Springfield scoped rifles. These are good in some cases, but again I don't care to play sniper all throughout the match so I'd switch to them when necessary.

One thing that is great is the Matched player XBox Live option. This makes for a fun match while improving your skills. Nearly everyone I ran into online was a decent person. Sure there were a few little kids screaming obscenities but what can you do.

I was feeling better about my COD2 skills and decided that I wanted to try the campaign on Veteran difficulty so that I can get some additional achievement points. I started trying to get the Veteran of Crossing the Rhine achievement. The level of difficulty is insane - but I loved it! Reminded me of the Conflict series, very addicitive. I finally completed the mission and went on to complete the Winter War Veteran level as well. I recommend the challenge to anyone who loves COD2 and wants to improve their skills in multiplayer. Lots of fun!

  • I think that it depends on *how good you are and the type of map. Heres some tips:
If youre playing a map like Vosenak its probably best if you Use a sniper, *although it depends wether you good or not, you might not be such a great shot or you really suck at hiding. Or if you're playing a map like Toujane-Tanisia, its probably best if you use a Thompson or Grease gun(or any auto) Because the corners are tight and there are tall buildings eg. If someone fals beside you you can quikly kill them.
These are some small tips, Everyone is diferent but these tips mint help you! Give em a try! - thanks munt49 -Thats my XBox Live Gamertag
