Loading Ready Run DVD Review
I got home from work today and had a package waiting for me containing the Loading*Ready*Run Season One Weeks 1 to 52 DVD as well as the After Hours Quest for the Grail DVD by the same couple of guys. I saw a dubbed WOW clip that seemed funny and so I ordered their DVDs.It's difficult to describe the degree of embarrassment I felt watching these craptastic comedy shorts. There are 3 painful DVDs full of lame-ass comedy sketches. The DVDs and the cases they come in smell like black licorice - WTF? I can only liken their comedy skills to telemarketing. You have to call 500 angry people before that one sap buys your crap. These guys keep doing the same crappy skits (replace ___ with ___) over and over thinking that eventually there will be a little funny born. Having each other take the Cosmo Girl quiz doesn't get funnier the more you do it! And dudes, when your video segment title says, "Girly Magazine Quiz" I expect you to ask if Juggs is a ceramics magazine or not.
The production quality is pretty good for an independent DVD. You can really see those film school dollars at work Mom and Dad! One small problem with the copy I received is that the title was misspelled. It should have read, "Poon-Away" The C64 DVD menus are seriously the most awesome thing about this set of DVDs. Oh wait, I'm sorry that isn't quite the most awesome part. You see, they have some footage of a Cos-Play competition that I can't even begin to faithfully describe. Some people scare the shit out of me though.
You have to give the two Canadians some credit for being so candid with their socially crippling nerdom. You'll find yourself squirming in your seat wishing some skanky whore would drag these guys out in the alley and fuck the shit out of them just so they would just stop this nonsense already! You are not on Jackass dudes! You are not David Letterman so don't do top 10 lists! And for the love of God, cancel that Cosmo Girl subscription!!! Stick with the WOW parodies, that's what you are good at.
The After Hours Quest for the Grail is a 1995 style computer animated short. I actually found it pretty entertaining, but in all fairness I had just washed my eyes out with turpentine moments earlier. Do you remember that PC game Dragon Lore? You could buy it for 5.00 at computer shows back in the early 90s. Well, that is what this movie looks like.
I think I paid 25.00 for all this wonderful stuff. I don't even remember because it took them so long to send it to me from the Great White North - I actually forgot that I ordered it.
A+ for effort. F for... someone fuck these virgins already will ya?

Dude, buying the DVD before you found out that you really did not like it is your own fault.
