Xtender Xbox 360 Faceplates - Some Assembly Required
I was very excited to see a smaller group of guys put out a 360 accessory. Team Xtender has done some innovative work in the past so I placed my order for all 5 of the first wave of faceplates.Got the package today from Canada. I was impressed that they were able to fit all 5 faceplates in a single slender cardboard box. Everything was there and appeared good. I bought all five for about sixty bucks. Not bad.

I opened the blue one first and was surprised to find a number of little parts that needed to be assembled. Not the biggest deal, but still I wasn't thrilled about having to assemble an Xbox 360 faceplate.
The plastic is of decent quality and appears very much like advertised on the Team Xtender website.

I put the IR port cover in - simple enough. Then I came up against the USB spring loaded cover. This part was a bit of a pain in the ass but ultimately I think I did it correctly. There are no instructions with the items or on the website so you'll have to use your mind a bit (damn!). The little plastic nub on the USB door hinge feels like it could break easily - I didn't want to mess with it after it was in place. There is also what appears to be a replacement eject button which I'm not going to fool with.
I wasn't planning on collecting any 3rd party faceplates but these seemed interesting, and they are. I guess I just don't want to spend time assembling an Xbox faceplate with small fragile parts.
Great effort from Team Xtender - but I think I'm going to leave the other 4 sealed for now.

Good:
Creative see-through plastic design
Eject button replacement
Price is right
Bad:
Do I hafta put this together?
Tiny little pieces
Some flimsy plastic nubs
