Nintendo DS - Bomberman Review

Nintendo DS - Bomberman Review

...Well I really thought this was supposed to be online. I guess there will be another Nintendo DS Bomberman released during the holiday season which WILL be online.

Anyway, did you ever own a NEC TurboGrafx-16 console back in the day? Did you have a Bomberman Hu-Card? Okay, well... this is the same thing.

Oh, I almost forgot - you can use your greasy sausages to point to what upgrades you want to activate. And if you really feel like looking like a jerk - try yelling commands into the microphone. Thrilling.

The single most annoying thing about this game is the unbelievably lame save/load/continue system. You never know what the Sam Hell is going on. Whatever happened to 'Save and Continue'. I don't need to be sent to the title screen after each level.

Did you like Bomberman then? You'll like it now. This should be a $20.00 game.

Batman Begins ... to kick some ass!

I was a fan of the first 2 Tim Burton Batman films. After that, the franchise took a serious dive. With craptastic films like Catwoman I thought for sure this series was dead.

Holy kick-ass-metal Batman, this movie rocked the Casbah! Mirroring Sam Raimi's Spiderman storytelling style, Batman Begins puts the viewer in touch with who Bruce Wayne is and why he became Batman in the first place. It was great to see the film makers ditch the campy over-the-top feel of the previous movies and make a film where you almost say, "Yeah, that could happen". Great stuff.

Excellent choice of cast as well. Batman is played by some dude you've never seen before (at least I hadn't). Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine are very believable in their roles. I guess not having giant egos competing for witty one liners goes a long way. Katie Holmes is nice to look at, but she's no Mary Jane Watson. Some dude who looks like Billy Corrigan plays the villan. Again, not over the top. This is another great performance. The actor is way too young for the role. He wears unbelievably fake glasses , but they don't detract from watching the movie much. The best performance is by Liam Neeson. Not much I can say about his performance other than - go see this movie. He makes you realize how crappy most actors are. We just get accustomed to seeing the same weak performances by attractive actors (Colin Farrell anyone?) and forget what it means to be a great actor. Rocking good performance by Darkman.
