Game-On!

Game On

Over the weekend I flew out to Chicago to attend my cousin's wedding. On Sunday I took my son to the Museum of Science and Industry.

I didn't realize it at the time, but the "Game On!" traveling exhibit was in town for it's last 4 weeks. How great was this!!! I had read about the exhibit but did not believe I would be able to attend. Here is the lowdown411:

Good:

Only $5.00 and You could stay and play the games as long as you wanted.
They had a sparkly blue (slightly shorter than the yellow) 1962 version of "Space War"
I got to see the actual "Brown Box".
Nice selection of "Classics" as well as those less popular.
Beautiful "PC-Engine" display
Beautiful "Steel Battalion" display
Atari 7800 Prototype mock-up with square controllers
Waiting in line to play Atari 2600 "Adventure"
Amazing collection of handheld games - awesome!
Incredible Atari 2600 "Warlords" battle arena
Nice collection of vintage video game magazines on display

Not so Good:

Vectrex was in bad shape - can't they get a nicer one?
No authentic Atari 2600 "Codebreaker" controller with display (used Cookie Monster)
Broken "Space Channel 5" Display
Broken "Discs of Tron" Display
