Game Boy Advance - King of Swing Review

There was a lot of advertising preceeding the release of Nintendo's GBA King of Swing. I thought it would be more like Donkey Kong Country or something. Well it's really more like a step back to Donkey Kong Jr. where you climb up vines.

You basically use your stationary arms to grab hold of pegs and swing around then let go to fly in the direction of your choice. There are baddies to watch out for along the way. You use the shoulder buttons to control the action. You also have a burst attack at your disposal. Kind of interesting idea. Kind of boring after a while.

I'm not sure if I've just become spoiled by the DS but the graphics and presentation appear to fall somewhat short of what I expect of a title released in 2005.

Interesting attempt at innovation - something I must commend. 3 out of 5 banannas.
